Why U-Turn Crashes Can Lead to Severe Injuries
U-turn crashes can be especially dangerous because they often involve a vehicle crossing directly into the path of oncoming traffic. Drivers making a turn must judge distance and speed quickly, and miscalculations can leave little time for other motorists to react.
When a collision occurs during a turning maneuver, the side of a vehicle is often impacted, which can increase the force felt by passengers. This type of crash can be more serious when children or vulnerable passengers are involved, as sudden impacts may lead to significant injury even at moderate speeds.
