Vanceburg, KY (April 26, 2026) – Several people were injured Friday afternoon, April 25, after a fire broke out at a two-story home in Vanceburg. The incident was reported around 12:10 p.m., prompting emergency units to respond to the scene.
When crews arrived, the home was already fully engulfed in flames. Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly, reaching a nearby barn and a mobile home. The flames also sparked several brush fires in the surrounding area.
Three firefighters were hurt while responding to the blaze. One firefighter suffered burns and remained in the hospital overnight for observation. Another fell through the floor inside a trailer and was treated for a leg injury before being released. A third firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and later released.
A resident of the home sustained burns to the face and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The original house and the barn were both destroyed in the fire. Additional details about the cause have not yet been released.
