Why Bus Crashes Result in Multiple Hospitalizations
When a large passenger bus is involved in a crash, injuries can affect many people at once due to the number of occupants and limited restraint systems compared to passenger vehicles. Even when a bus is equipped with seat belts, not all passengers may be wearing them, which can increase injury risk during sudden impacts.
Crashes that occur in the early morning hours can also involve reduced visibility and driver fatigue, both of which may contribute to roadway incidents. Because buses carry many passengers, emergency responders often coordinate multiple ambulances and hospital destinations to ensure timely treatment for all those affected.
