Why Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Crashes Are Especially Dangerous
Motorcycle riders are particularly vulnerable in traffic collisions due to limited physical protection compared to enclosed vehicles. When a hit-and-run occurs, the situation becomes even more critical because immediate accountability and witness information may be missing, potentially delaying investigative progress.
Intersections like SE 14th and Thornton are common locations for crashes due to turning traffic and crossing movements. Even low-speed impacts can result in serious injuries for motorcyclists.
Law enforcement encourages drivers involved in any collision to remain at the scene, as leaving can significantly complicate medical response, investigations, and legal outcomes.
