Glen Ullin, ND (April 28, 2026) – A fatal angle crash occurred Thursday, March 26, at 7:12 a.m. on Highway 49 near mile marker 84.5 and 28th St. SW, approximately 15 miles north of Glen Ullin. A 2022 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling south on Highway 49 as it approached the intersection with 28th St. SW.
At the same time, a 2014 Ford Escape was heading west on 28th St. SW and came up to a stop sign. The Ford failed to stop and entered the intersection, crossing directly into the path of the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet struck the Ford on the front passenger side, and both vehicles left the roadway after impact.
The male driver of the Chevrolet, age 35 from Beulah, suffered serious injuries. The female driver of the Ford, age 40 from New Salem, also sustained serious injuries. Three juvenile passengers in the Ford, ages 9, 12, and 4, were seriously injured. A 7-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. All injured individuals were taken to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck. Seat belts were reported in use where noted.
Road conditions were dry, with foggy weather at the time of the crash. Emergency units responded and assisted at the scene.
