Albuquerque, NM (September 23, 2025) – An injury crash along Interstate 40 eastbound near the Rio Grande River disrupted the morning commute in Albuquerque and prompted a swift emergency response early Tuesday.
The incident was reported just after 8:20 a.m., according to dispatch records from Albuquerque-Bernalillo County-Rio Rancho Fire/Rescue. Crews from Engine 17 and Rescue 17 were sent to the scene after receiving reports of a traffic accident with injuries in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near the river crossing.
Details on the number of vehicles involved have not been released, but at least one person required medical attention at the scene. The extent of the injuries remains unclear at this time.
