Allegheny County, PA (January 16, 2026) – A trauma alert was issued Tuesday after a man became trapped beneath a vehicle near Lothrop Street in Pittsburgh, prompting a rapid medical evacuation to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Emergency crews responded to the distressing incident, where the man’s lower extremities were reportedly pinned under the vehicle. Medevac 15 was dispatched and transported the victim, who was said to be alert and oriented but suffering from right abdominal pain, tenderness, and lower back pain.
According to radio communications, the individual had no other visible injuries during secondary assessment. First responders confirmed stable vital signs, including a GCS of 15, blood pressure of 128/78, and respiratory rate of 24. The patient was fully immobilized before air transport.
The circumstances surrounding how the individual became trapped remain under investigation. Authorities have not released further details about the vehicle involved or if any contributing factors have been identified.
Medical crews and trauma teams were on standby as the helicopter arrived at the hospital. Updates on the victim’s condition are expected following evaluation.
