Motorcycle Crash Dangers in Pennsylvania Urban Corridors
Motorcycle riders face heightened risks on Pennsylvania’s urban bridges and roadways, especially in low-visibility, early morning hours. The Tilghman St Bridge, connecting key parts of Allentown, sees a steady flow of traffic and can become particularly hazardous when drivers execute unexpected maneuvers such as U-turns.
State crash data shows that excessive speed remains a leading factor in motorcycle fatalities. When combined with sudden vehicle movements, the chance of a fatal outcome increases substantially. These risks are compounded on narrow bridges or roadways lacking sufficient escape routes for motorcyclists.
Following a fatal crash, investigations often focus on the behavior of both parties to determine legal accountability. Family members of deceased victims may pursue wrongful death claims, especially if evidence shows negligent driving or traffic violations contributed to the outcome.
