Arapahoe County, CO (January 16, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries Wednesday afternoon near East Mississippi Avenue and the northbound I-225 on-ramp in Aurora.
The crash, reported around 3:40 p.m., involved two vehicles with heavy damage and occurred just east of the on-ramp. Units from Rescue 2, Engine 11, and Engine 4 were dispatched to the scene, with at least one individual classified as a “green patient,” indicating minor injuries. Additional ALS support was requested to assist with the response and to manage scene safety and traffic flow.
Responders reported that the vehicles came to rest on the far right shoulder just off the highway. Due to the position of the crash and the involvement of multiple emergency vehicles, traffic delays were likely in the area throughout the afternoon.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and police were notified to respond to the scene.
