Atlanta, GA (April 22, 2025) – A devastating house fire in northwest Atlanta claimed one life overnight, according to reports from Atlanta Fire Rescue. The fire occurred in a residence on Madrona St, where crews were dispatched around 1 a.m. after receiving emergency calls regarding flames engulfing the home.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy fire conditions concentrated at the front of the structure. Crews moved swiftly to contain the blaze and began interior searches once it was safe to enter. Tragically, a deceased individual was found in the bathroom of the home after the flames were brought under control.
Authorities also confirmed that a man in his nineties was able to escape the burning home and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. His current condition has not been disclosed.
