Pursuit-Related Accidents Involving Law Enforcement in Colorado
Police pursuits, while critical for apprehending suspects, carry heightened risks for all individuals involved—including law enforcement officers and innocent bystanders. Incidents like the one at Buckley Rd and Dartmouth Ave illustrate the dangers officers face while responding to emergencies at high speeds.
In Colorado, hundreds of pursuit-related incidents are reported each year, with many resulting in injury. These events often occur in urban areas where high-speed maneuvers and split-second decisions must be made amid regular traffic.
