Aurora, CO (January 31, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured Friday evening following a collision involving a truck near East 16th Ave in Aurora. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m., where they provided aid to the injured individual.
According to initial dispatch communications, the person struck was classified as a yellow-priority patient, indicating non-life-threatening but potentially serious injuries. Fire and rescue crews, along with police units, responded to manage the scene and ensure medical support was administered promptly.
The driver of the involved truck—a red GMC Sierra—relocated to a nearby Walgreens parking lot and remained on-site to cooperate with authorities. Police were requested to speak directly with the driver as part of the ongoing investigation.
No other injuries were reported at the scene, and a second ambulance initially dispatched was later canceled following a reassessment of the situation. The incident took place south of I-70, an area that also had emergency traffic related to a separate brush fire, though authorities confirmed the two incidents were unrelated.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances leading up to the collision. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
Our thoughts are with the individual injured in this crash, and we hope for a swift and full recovery.
