Rollover Crash Dangers and Contributing Factors in Maine
Rollover crashes like the one that occurred on I-395 are among the most serious types of motor vehicle incidents, often resulting in life-threatening injuries or fatalities, especially when seatbelts are not used. The violent nature of vehicle rollovers can lead to ejection, structural collapse, and prolonged recovery for those involved.
According to the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, contributing factors such as excessive speed, alcohol use, and driver inexperience frequently play a role in single-vehicle crashes. In this case, preliminary findings suggest both speed and impairment may have led to the loss of control on a curved portion of the highway.
I-395 in Bangor is a limited-access roadway with relatively high speeds and complex curves, which require full driver focus and control. The consequences of a mistake are magnified when safety equipment, such as seatbelts, is not used.
Following a serious crash, injured individuals and their families often face long-term rehabilitation, mounting medical bills, and emotional trauma. Legal guidance and insurance support can be essential in managing these burdens and ensuring access to proper care and compensation.
