Multiple vehicles were involved, including a semi-truck and a Nissan Titan. The impact sent debris across all lanes, leading to additional crashes. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed at least one fatality. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office was called to dispatch the coroner.

The Dangers of Wrong-Way Accidents on California Highways
Wrong-way crashes are among the most dangerous traffic incidents, often leading to severe injuries or fatalities. Studies show that most of these accidents occur at night and involve impaired or confused drivers.
California highways, especially busy routes like I-15, are prone to these incidents due to high traffic volumes and interchanges where drivers can mistakenly enter the wrong lane. To reduce the risk of wrong-way collisions, drivers should:
- Stay alert, especially at night when visibility is low.
- Avoid distractions and impairment while driving.
- Watch for signs indicating one-way roads and freeway ramps.
- If a wrong-way driver is spotted, slow down and safely move to the right shoulder while calling 911.
