Batavia, NY (February 6, 2025) – Firefighters rushed to a structure fire Thursday at a residence on 3 Vine St, where three children were trapped inside as smoke and flames spread through the home.
According to reports, City Fire arrived at the scene to find flames showing from the structure. Firefighters quickly worked to rescue the trapped children. Two of the three children were rescued, found conscious and alert, and were transported to a hospital for further medical evaluation.
The third child was carried out of the burning home in the arms of a City firefighter and was rushed to the hospital. Officials have not yet provided details on the severity of injuries or the conditions of those affected.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Crews remained at the scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to assess the extent of the damage.
