Large Truck Crashes in Texas
Crashes involving 18-wheelers often result in significant roadway disruptions and heightened risks of injury due to the size and weight of these vehicles. In Baytown, SH-146 is a heavily traveled route for both commuter and industrial traffic, making collisions at intersections like W Main St particularly impactful. Statewide data from the Texas Department of Transportation shows that large truck crashes are more likely to cause severe injuries compared to passenger vehicle collisions, often due to rollover risks, jackknifing, or, as in this case, the vehicle hanging precariously over an elevated roadway. Safety experts urge drivers to allow extra space when traveling near commercial trucks and to anticipate their wider turning radiuses and longer stopping distances. For those injured in such accidents, seeking immediate medical attention and understanding available recovery options are essential steps toward addressing the physical, emotional, and financial toll of the crash.
