Motorcycle Accidents in Washington
This collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle on I-405 highlights the vulnerability of motorcyclists in highway crashes. Unlike passenger vehicle occupants, riders have little protection, leaving them more likely to suffer serious injuries in any collision. The suspected involvement of a hit-and-run only underscores the dangers motorcyclists face when drivers fail to remain at the scene and take responsibility.
Motorcycle accidents in Washington are often caused by unsafe lane changes, speeding, or failure to yield. High-speed corridors like I-405 present added risks, as even minor impacts can send a rider into traffic lanes, creating the potential for catastrophic outcomes.
Safety officials encourage both drivers and motorcyclists to remain cautious on busy highways. Motorists should carefully check blind spots and signal lane changes, while riders are urged to wear protective gear and maintain visibility to surrounding drivers.
