Boone County, MO (June 26, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon left one woman injured at the intersection of Missouri Route 124 and Hopper Road, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:14 p.m. when a 2016 Ford F-450, driven by a 50-year-old man from Ashland, attempted to cross MO-124 and failed to yield. The truck entered the path of a westbound 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by a 35-year-old woman from Harrisburg.
The Chrysler struck the left side of the Ford, resulting in extensive damage to the Pacifica. The female driver was moderately injured in the impact and was transported by MU EMS to University Hospital for treatment. She was reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Ford sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the Chrysler was towed by I-70 Towing. The driver of the Ford was not injured and remained at the scene.
Troopers TPR. D. Holliday and TPR. T. Tarwater investigated the incident. The collision remains under review.
Failure-to-Yield Accidents in Missouri
Crashes caused by failure to yield—like the one that occurred Wednesday in Boone County—are among the most preventable yet dangerous types of roadway incidents. At intersections like MO-124 and Hopper Rd, where rural roadways meet local traffic corridors, misjudging the speed or distance of an oncoming vehicle can lead to serious injuries or fatalities.
Moderate injuries, such as those sustained by the Harrisburg woman, often require hospital care and extended recovery, even when seatbelts and safety features are in use. Victims may also face lasting consequences, including physical therapy, time off work, and insurance disputes.
