Bridgeport, NE (April 23, 2025) – A devastating three-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle took place Tuesday afternoon approximately two miles west of Bridgeport, Nebraska, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Maverick Miller, a staff member at Bridgeport Public Schools.
The collision occurred on Highway 26, prompting authorities to fully close the roadway for several hours during the response and investigation. According to officials, a student was traveling with Miller at the time of the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the student was treated for injuries and later released.
Emergency services from across Morrill County—including the Nebraska State Patrol, Morrill County Sheriff’s Office, Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, Bayard Police Department, Morrill County ALS Ambulance Service, and City of Bridgeport Utilities Department—responded to the scene. Air and ground emergency medical support were deployed due to the severity of the crash.
