Bronx, NY (January 16, 2026) – A 64-year-old man tragically lost his life in a scooter accident late on Friday morning in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. The incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. near 1510 Waters Place, a busy stretch known for frequent traffic activity.
Emergency medical services responded promptly and found the man with a severe head injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial reports indicated that the victim had been struck by a vehicle. However, following further investigation, police confirmed that the man had been riding his scooter northbound through a two-way intersection when he lost control, swerved into traffic, and fell, striking his head.
Authorities clarified that no other vehicles were found to be at fault in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine if road conditions or other environmental factors contributed to the crash.
