Brookfield, CT (January 17, 2026) – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on US-7 North in Brookfield during the evening hours of January 16, according to Connecticut State Police.
The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. when a 61-year-old man from Bethel attempted to cross Route 7 North. While walking across the roadway, the man was hit by a Honda CR-V driven by a 22-year-old motorist traveling in the left lane. The force of the collision left the pedestrian with suspected life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported the injured man to Danbury Hospital for advanced medical care. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and has not been reported injured. Authorities have not announced any charges or citations at this time.
The northbound lanes of US-7 between Exits 11 and 12 were closed following the accident as officials conducted an investigation and cleared the roadway.
