Butler County, KS (April 23, 2025) – A serious crash involving two vehicles left multiple people injured Tuesday evening southwest of Augusta, including a woman who was critically hurt and a child who was also hospitalized, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders arrived around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of SW 110th St and SW Carmon Rd, where they found a Hyundai sedan in a ditch and a Chevy Colorado pickup truck resting in the intersection. The crash drew a coordinated response from Butler County deputies, EMS, and local fire crews.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 20-year-old woman from rural Augusta, was found breathing but unconscious at the scene. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to a hospital in Wichita by EagleMed in critical condition. Two children in the same vehicle, aged 1 and 7, were evaluated on-site and did not require hospitalization.
The driver of the Chevy Colorado, a 20-year-old woman from Andover who was pregnant, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by EMS for treatment. A 3-year-old child in the pickup was also taken to the hospital with injuries, though their condition was not specified.
Authorities have not released further details about what led to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
