Intersection Crashes in Butler County
Thursday’s collision at Pittsburgh Rd and Litman Rd illustrates the risks posed by high-traffic intersections, especially those shared by commercial vehicles like box trucks and passenger SUVs. In Butler Township, intersections near retail corridors and fast food establishments experience significant congestion, particularly during evening hours.
Crashes in these areas are often caused by misjudged turns, red-light violations, or lane changes in dense traffic. When large commercial vehicles are involved, even relatively low-speed crashes can lead to substantial vehicle damage and injury, particularly for occupants of smaller vehicles.
