Calabasas, CA (January 31, 2026) – An accident left a motorcyclist hospitalized following a collision on the southbound side of Highway 101 at the Las Virgenes Rd off-ramp in Calabasas. The crash was reported at approximately 5:17 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and a sedan, according to California Highway Patrol.
Medics and fire crews worked to assist the rider after the crash. Reports indicate that a Civic motorcycle collided with the rear of a gray Ford Fusion for reasons still under investigation. The force of the impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected and land in active traffic lanes.
Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived promptly and transported the injured rider to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The extent of the rider’s injuries has not yet been disclosed, but the response indicates they required immediate medical attention.
The incident caused multiple lane closures on the southbound 101 as crews managed the scene and cleared debris. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted during the evening commute.
