Rural Collision Risks on U.S. Highways in Arkansas
Crashes along highways like U.S. 167 are often more severe due to higher travel speeds and limited visibility. In rural areas of Arkansas, such as Calhoun County, emergency response times may be slightly delayed, which can increase the seriousness of injuries sustained.
According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, a large percentage of the state’s injury crashes occur on U.S. and state highways outside of metropolitan areas. These routes serve critical transportation needs but also carry inherent dangers due to two-lane segments, wildlife crossings, and long travel distances between stops.
For those injured in such accidents, it’s important to seek immediate medical evaluation and to document the crash carefully. Legal and insurance guidance may also help individuals navigate the recovery process and safeguard their rights.
