Rural Nighttime Crashes on NH Route 175
Roads like NH Rte 175 in the Campton-Thornton area pose particular risks at night, with minimal lighting, sharp curves, and long stretches of wooded terrain. These factors often contribute to late-night collisions in rural Grafton County, where visibility and response time may be compromised.
According to state traffic data, rural nighttime accidents are a leading cause of injuries in New Hampshire. Drivers are more susceptible to fatigue, deer crossings, and diminished awareness in low-light conditions, especially on narrow or less-patrolled roads.
Residents and travelers are urged to reduce speed, use high beams responsibly, and remain alert to road conditions when traveling after dark. Following any crash, prompt medical care and incident documentation are essential for both recovery and legal protection.
