Rear-End Collisions in Missouri
Rear-end crashes are one of the most frequent types of roadway accidents and are often the result of following too closely, inattention, or sudden stops in traffic. Even at moderate speeds, these crashes can cause significant damage and injuries. Sunday’s crash on MO-72 highlights the importance of maintaining a safe following distance and staying alert to traffic conditions ahead.
Missouri safety officials recommend allowing at least a three-second gap between vehicles and increasing that distance in wet or reduced-visibility conditions. Maintaining proper spacing gives drivers more time to react and avoid collisions.
