Carter County, MO (August 8, 2025) – A serious crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle left three people injured on Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 60, roughly six miles southeast of Ellsinore. The violent collision resulted in both vehicles being totaled and brought emergency air and ground medical response to the scene.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:25 p.m. on August 7. A 2016 Jeep Renegade, driven by a 42-year-old woman from Qulin, MO, was traveling southbound when it entered the path of a westbound 2017 Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra. The impact caused the motorcycle to strike the SUV, then overturn violently, sending both vehicles into the median.
The motorcyclist, a 71-year-old man from Jonesborough, TN, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Air Evac to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. The Jeep’s driver suffered moderate injuries and was transported by East Carter County Ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. A 38-year-old female passenger from Ellsinore also sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the same facility by private vehicle.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Brooks Towing of Ellsinore. The incident was investigated by Trooper K.H. Hall with assistance from local deputies and additional state patrol units. The crash remains under investigation.
