Charleston, SC (January 17, 2026) – Emergency medical crews transported two individuals to a local hospital following a rear-end collision near Henry Tecklenburg Dr in Charleston. The crash occurred while the victims’ vehicle was slowing down, traveling at approximately 20 miles per hour, when it was struck from behind.
Charleston County Medic 14 reported that the vehicle sustained minor rear-end damage and no airbag deployment occurred. Both patients were restrained occupants of the vehicle and were transported to St. Francis Hospital for further evaluation.
The first patient, a male driver, suffered pain along his entire right side, with his neck, shoulder, and right leg being the most affected areas. He remained alert with motor function and sensory intact in all limbs, and C-spine precautions were in place. The second patient, a female passenger, complained of neck pain and a headache but remained stable during transport.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and ensured both patients received appropriate care on scene before initiating transport. The crash led to minor traffic disruptions in the surrounding area while the investigation and response were underway.
Authorities are reviewing the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
