Charlotte, NC (February 8, 2025) – A major crash on Interstate 85 northbound near Graham St in Mecklenburg County early Saturday morning resulted in one fatality and left four others seriously injured, according to Medic.
The accident occurred around 3:20 a.m., prompting a massive emergency response to the scene. The severity of the crash led officials to shut down all northbound lanes of I-85 near Exit 40 for several hours while crews worked to assist victims and clear the wreckage.
First responders, including paramedics and fire crews, worked to provide life-saving care to those injured in the collision. Despite their efforts, one person succumbed to injuries at the scene. The four others sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
