Chattanooga, TN (January 17, 2026) – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash with injuries that occurred Friday afternoon near the I-24 westbound off-ramp and South Market St in Chattanooga. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after noon to assist the injured and begin the search for the fleeing driver.
According to dispatch communications, a red Tesla reportedly fled the scene after the collision and was last seen turning left from Market St onto an undisclosed cross street. The vehicle is believed to have a Tennessee license plate beginning with the letter “B.” A blue Audi was also mentioned in relation to the incident, though its exact involvement remains unclear.
The crash occurred in front of Mountain View Nissan, a busy area near one of Chattanooga’s main thoroughfares, which may have led to traffic disruptions as first responders worked at the scene.
Injuries were confirmed, though details regarding the number of victims and the severity of their conditions have not yet been released. Chattanooga Police continue to investigate the crash and are actively searching for the suspect vehicle.
