Cherokee County, GA (January 17, 2026) – A fatal pedestrian crash is under investigation following a deadly collision early Friday morning along Highway 92 near I-75. Emergency responders, including sheriff’s deputies and medical personnel, arrived swiftly at the scene to assist the victim, but tragically, the individual was pronounced dead from their injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. on January 16. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a man was attempting to cross Highway 92 from the Hampton Inn toward a nearby BP gas station when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.
The driver involved remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities have not released the name of the deceased pending family notification. No additional injuries were reported, and there has been no indication of impairment or wrongdoing by the driver at this time.
