Chino, CA (September 22, 2024) – A bicyclist tragically lost his life Saturday evening after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the 5200 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, according to law enforcement officials.
The deadly incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on September 20. A man riding his bicycle along Eucalyptus Ave was hit by a motorist who fled the scene without stopping to render aid. First responders arrived shortly after the crash and attempted life-saving measures, but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chino police launched an immediate investigation and later located the suspect vehicle. Authorities arrested 28-year-old Jazmine Carreto of Chino on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing injury or death. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center following her arrest.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
