Cincinnati, OH (September 12, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a garbage truck has left one person dead, according to Cincinnati fire officials. The incident occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard, near Wardall Avenue in the Westwood neighborhood.
Cincinnati emergency crews quickly responded to the scene, where the crash was reported near the entrance to Airy View Apartments, just up the road from the Doris Day Dog Park. Assistant Fire Chief Matt Flagler confirmed the fatality, but further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear.
Cincinnati police have blocked off Westwood Northern Boulevard between Wardell Avenue and Boudinot Avenue for most of the morning as crews work at the scene. The Cincinnati Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
