Authorities report that the two victims were riding in the bicycle lane on the left side of North 4th St when a grey SUV attempted to turn left onto East 3rd Ave. The vehicle struck the scooter during the turn, ejecting both the driver and the passenger onto the roadway. The SUV driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
