Coolbaugh Township, PA (September 10, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash with entrapment occurred Tuesday afternoon on I-380 Northbound near mile marker 5.9 in Coolbaugh Township. The incident took place around 5:31 p.m., prompting multiple emergency response units to be dispatched to the scene.
According to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), the crash involved two vehicles, one of which rolled over as a result of the collision. One of the individuals, a male driver, was reported to be trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle. Despite the severity of the crash, responders confirmed that the man was awake and talking, though he remained physically trapped inside the vehicle.
Emergency crews, including PSP Stations 25 and 33, as well as Truck 47 and EMS 11, worked in tandem to extricate the man from the vehicle. The rescue operation was complicated due to the vehicle’s position and the extent of damage, but crews were able to free him from the wreckage after an intense effort. The individual was immediately transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation and treatment. His condition has not been confirmed, but authorities stated he was conscious throughout the rescue operation.
The second vehicle involved in the crash sustained significant damage, but there were no reports of further injuries from that vehicle.
