Copiah County, MS (June 2, 2025) – A woman was killed in a tragic single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, June 1, on MS-27 near Camp Lane in Copiah County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Mary Ellen Hux of New Hebron, Mississippi, was driving a 2021 Ford Bronco southbound when she lost control of the vehicle. The Bronco ran off the road, struck a tree, and became engulfed in flames.
Hux sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash or the circumstances leading up to it.
