Corpus Christi, TX (March 16, 2025) – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a serious multi-vehicle crash that occurred on State Highway 286 at County Road 22 on the city’s Southside.
According to DPS Sergeant Mallory, a Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound on SH 286 when it crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a Toyota Highlander and a Chevy pickup truck. The force of the impact left multiple people injured.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. Four individuals were hospitalized following the collision, with two requiring surgery due to the severity of their injuries. The crash caused significant disruptions in traffic as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and assist those involved.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
