Coryell County, TX (September 25, 2025) – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred late Wednesday morning on Highway 36 just west of Long Bridge in Coryell County, resulting in the death of one driver and injuries to another.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place around 10:30 a.m. when 18-year-old Romi Bomar was driving a 2014 Jeep eastbound on Hwy 36. While navigating a curve on a wet roadway, Bomar reportedly lost control of the vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic. The Jeep collided with a westbound 2012 Ford F-350 driven by a 22-year-old woman from Gatesville.
Emergency crews responded quickly and transported both drivers to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple. Tragically, Bomar succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The other driver remains hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.
Troopers with DPS are continuing to examine the factors contributing to the crash, including weather and roadway conditions.
