Pedestrian Safety in Urban Areas
Urban intersections like Eastern Parkway and Buffalo Avenue are busy areas where pedestrians are at heightened risk of accidents. Collisions involving school buses and pedestrians are particularly concerning, given the severity of injuries that can result. Factors such as driver distraction, failure to yield, and reduced visibility often contribute to these incidents.
Both drivers and pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution at intersections, with drivers being particularly vigilant near crosswalks and school zones. Pedestrians should ensure they cross only at designated areas and remain alert to oncoming traffic.
