Danbury, CT (January 17, 2026) – A hit-and-run accident on Newtown Rd near the Chipotle Mexican Grill left two individuals injured on the evening of January 16. Emergency crews from Engine 24, Rescue 24, and EMS were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7:00 p.m.
Initial reports from Brushy Hill Command confirmed that one female was complaining of stomach pain, likely caused by airbag deployment, while a male passenger reported pain in his arm. EMS arrived to evaluate and treat both victims, and one was ultimately transported for further care. Responders remained on scene for over 30 minutes coordinating care and clearing the area.
Police were informed that a yellow two-door pickup truck fled the scene of the crash before units arrived. Officers responded quickly and began an active search for the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
