Darke Co, OH (August 26, 2025) – A Monday evening crash at a rural intersection in Darke County left three people injured, including a juvenile, after two vehicles collided in a failed left-turn maneuver.
The incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. at the junction of State Route 118 and Beamsville-Union City Rd. According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle attempted to make a left turn and was struck by an oncoming SUV driven by 26-year-old Ashlyn Swank of Rossburg, who was traveling southbound on SR-118.
Swank and a juvenile passenger in her SUV were both transported to Coldwater Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver, identified as Sierra, was taken to Wayne Hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.
Medical teams from multiple agencies responded swiftly to assess and treat the injured, while deputies secured the scene and began their investigation. Both vehicles sustained notable damage, and the intersection was partially blocked for a period of time as emergency crews worked.
