Darke Co, OH (January 16, 2026) – Two women were injured following a two-vehicle crash at a well-traveled intersection in Darke County on Thursday morning. The collision occurred just before 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and State Route 503.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place when a 75-year-old woman driving a gray 2021 Jeep Renegade stopped at a stop sign on SR-503 but failed to yield to cross traffic. As she attempted to enter the intersection, her vehicle was struck by a gold 2002 Buick CX driven by a 67-year-old woman traveling along US-127.
The impact caused the Jeep to remain on the roadway, while the Buick veered off and came to rest in a roadside ditch. Deputies and EMS arrived on scene quickly to assist both drivers. Medics transported the women to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash. The intersection, which sees frequent morning traffic, was temporarily impacted while crews cleared the scene and gathered evidence related to the incident.
We send our best wishes to both drivers and hope for their full and speedy recovery.
