Darling Township, MN (September 8, 2025) – A tragic collision on Saturday evening claimed the life of a 78-year-old bicyclist after a pickup truck struck him along Highway 115 near 95th Ave in Darling Township, Morrison County.
The crash was reported around 7:20 p.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2006 Ram 1500 driven by 35-year-old Jeffrey Lewis Weaver of Sauk Centre was traveling westbound on Hwy 115 when it collided with the bicyclist. Despite immediate response from Mayo Ambulance and Randall Fire crews, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family and is expected to be released later today.
Weaver was uninjured in the crash. Reports confirm that he was wearing a seat belt, airbags did not deploy, and alcohol was not a factor. Road conditions were described as dry at the time of the collision.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from Morrison County authorities.
