Decatur, AL (Septemer 1, 2025) – One person was killed and two others were injured Saturday morning in a crash at the intersection of Beltline Road SW and Carridale Street SW in Decatur, according to the Decatur Police Department.
The crash occurred around 6:24 AM when Decatur 911 received reports of a two-vehicle collision. Decatur Police, Decatur Fire, and EMS units responded to the scene and found two vehicles involved.
The driver of one vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Tavoras Antwan Coffman of Athens, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner. A passenger in the same vehicle was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle was transported by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital as well. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
Authorities are actively investigating the crash to determine contributing factors. The roadway was temporarily impacted while emergency personnel cleared the scene.
