Pedestrian Accidents in Florida
Florida has one of the highest pedestrian fatality rates in the country, with accidents like the one on Old New York Ave and Ridgewood Ave occurring all too frequently. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), pedestrian accidents are often caused by factors such as driver inattention, failure to yield, and pedestrians crossing outside of designated crosswalks.
In many cases, nighttime visibility issues, road conditions, and driver speed contribute to the severity of these accidents. Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable road users, and even low-speed collisions can result in serious or fatal injuries.
Families of those who lose loved ones in pedestrian crashes may have legal options to seek justice and compensation for medical costs, funeral expenses, and emotional suffering.
