Denver, CO (January 16, 2026) – A bus operator suffered injuries in a hit-and-run collision Thursday afternoon near the intersection of 16th Street and Larimer Street in downtown Denver, according to emergency dispatch reports.
The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. when a white SUV struck the operator. The exact make and model of the vehicle remain unclear. While initial reports suggested the SUV might have been an Audi, security footage did not confirm that detail, and authorities continue to review video evidence of multiple white vehicles in the area at the time of the crash.
The victim sustained injuries to their right shoulder and right ankle. Although the operator declined ambulance transport due to cost concerns, they indicated a desire to seek medical attention and were later assisted in reaching a doctor.
The vehicle involved fled the scene, and the case is being investigated as a hit-and-run. Police continue to search for the driver and urge anyone with information to come forward.
We wish the injured operator a full and swift recovery and encourage witnesses to assist investigators in identifying the vehicle involved.
