Denver, CO (January 16, 2026) – Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a reported injury involving a passenger on a city bus Wednesday afternoon near Welton Street in Denver.
The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. and involved a 38-year-old male passenger who was found lying in the rear section of the bus. According to RTD supervisors on scene, the man sustained an injury to his nose after reportedly striking the interior middle section of the bus. Initial concerns mistakenly identified the injured party as the bus operator, but that was later clarified by responding personnel.
The man was conscious and responsive when emergency responders arrived. Paramedics were called to assess the extent of the injuries and provide necessary treatment. No other passengers or transit personnel were reported injured, and a replacement operator was brought in to continue the route.
Officials have not confirmed the cause of the incident or whether it was related to a crash or sudden stop. No transit police were on scene at the time, and the investigation is ongoing.
We send our best wishes to the injured passenger and hope for a quick recovery.
