Detroit, MI (January 2, 2025) – A tragic incident occurred early New Year’s Day on M-10 near Webb St and John C Lodge Fwy in Highland Park, Detroit. A 28-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to assist an injured driver.
The incident unfolded around 2:35 AM when a Jeep SUV lost control, crashed into the median, and rolled over. The man, who was a passenger in the Jeep, exited the vehicle to help the driver. While rendering aid, he was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu traveling along the freeway. Tragically, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep sustained injuries and was treated at the scene, while the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu remained on-site and is cooperating with the investigation.
