Detroit, MI (January 17, 2026) – Two individuals were injured in a motor vehicle crash near Outer Dr W in Detroit on January 16, according to emergency medical reports. The incident occurred during the early afternoon and resulted in both patients being transported to Sinai Grace Hospital as priority two trauma cases.
The crash involved a single vehicle occupied by a restrained driver and passenger. The vehicle’s airbags deployed during the impact, and estimated speeds at the time of the collision ranged from 25 to 35 miles per hour. The 58-year-old driver was reported awake and alert at the scene but complained of chest pain, pelvic tenderness, and lower left abdominal pain. The patient was placed in full spinal precautions for transport.
The passenger, who was also restrained, was able to self-extricate after the crash. EMS noted a visible deformity to the patient’s right wrist, which was splinted on site. No loss of consciousness or spinal injuries were reported. Both individuals were assessed by paramedics before being transported for further medical care.
